Sensex closed at 17322, up 127 points and Nifty at 5142, up 33 points from the previous close. CNX Midcap index was up 1.4% and BSE Smallcap index was up 0.5%. The market breadth was positive with advances at 697 against declines of 561 on the NSE. Top Nifty gainers included DLF, SBI and Cairn India while losers included Sterlite Industries, Ambuja Cements and Mahindra & Mahindra.
FII brought 4,459.90Cr in October month only while DII sold -2,207.33Cr in same period.
